Meal Plans

StrawberriesTraditional meal plans are the most economical, offering participants a guarantied number of meals each week for the entire semester in the dining room. ALL STUDENTS WHO LIVE IN CAMPUS HOUSING ARE REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A MEAL PLAN.

In order to meet your campus dining needs, we have designed the following meal plans for the 2009-2010 academic year. If you need to purchase a meal plan, or if you would like to make a change to the plan you have already selected, simply contact the Business Office in Presser Hall.

  • Full MEAL PLAN (19 meal plan)
Offers all 19 meals served each week.
  • 150 Block Plan
Offers 150 meals over the course of each semester

  • Commuter Plan: 100 Block Plan
(Available only to commuter students and students residing in Swede Suites or perimeter housing) Offers 100 meals over the course of each semester.

The "block" plans are very flexible in nature. Essentially, a block of meals are purchased for a semester. You can consume any of these meals at any time throughout the semester; however you are limited to the number of meals that you purchased, and you cannot transfer meals to another person. Meals are not carried over from semester to semester

Unused meals on the Full Meal Plan do not roll over to the following week. Each meal week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.

DECLINING BALANCE ACCOUNTS

Declining balance accounts are available to students regardless of their chosen meal plan. Also to off-campus students, staff, and faculty, Declining Balance Funds may be put on your Bethany College ID card in amounts of $25 or more at the Business office in Presser Hall. Students putting on $100 or more will receive an additional 10% on their card.

Having trouble selecting a meal plan?

Try considering your daily routine…Do you eat three meals a day? Will your class schedule, studying, extracurricular activities and social events interfere with dining? Will you miss dinner due to employment or evening classes? Anticipating the answers to these and similar questions will help you to select a meal plan that best fits your lifestyle

A valid campus ID is required for entrance into the dining facility and to access campus meal plan options.

Dietary Requirements & Sick Trays

Do you have particular dietary needs?  No problem!  Our Campus Dining Services Program can accommodate your special dietary requirements.  For more information, please contact Dining Services Office, 785-227-3953 or thecaf@bethanylb.edu

Sick trays are also available for students who are not feeling well enough to attend meals.  A pass must be obtained from the college nurse, resident assistant or area coordinator prior to coming to the cafeteria.  The pass, along with the sick student’s ID must be presented to the cashier to receive the meal.

Sack Lunch Requests

If you have a class or work that conflicts with the meal hours, you may request a sack lunch.  Sack lunch requests are available in the dining room.  Ask the cashier at the door for a request form.  Fill it out and return it to the cashier.

Dining Policies

One of our main goals is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we ask for your assistance with the following procedures:

  • Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished dining
  • Please refrain from taking food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that Meal Cards are non-transferable.  Meal cards cannot be used by anyone but the purchaser.
  • Students must enter and exit the dining room through designated doors.
  • Shoes and shirts are required when visiting any dining facility
  • Take only the food you plan to eat, and please be sure to eat all the food you take.
